Next week, Delphi will celebrate its 27th birthday on February 14. On that Valentine’s Day in 1995, Borland International released a revolutionary development tool to the public. I had been developing software professionally for a few years, and was fortunate to be invited to early field tests for what was to become Delphi. I just knew Delphi was going to be a game changer.

On February 7, 1995, I took a gamble and founded Raize Software Solutions to provide Delphi consulting services and also started working on my first book, Developing Custom Delphi Components. This was also the time when I started speaking at developer conferences. It was such a pleasure to be able to present sessions to other developers who were as passionate about Delphi as myself.

Twenty-seven years later, I am still blessed to be working with my favorite development tool and language (Why I Choose Delphi).

Happy Birthday Delphi!
